Or perhaps some Peppered Human & Lemon Sausages? If so, I hope you were in London last weekend, as the minds behind the Resident Evil video game franchise offered some unfamiliar delectables as part of a campaign to promote the latest installment of the game.
With the goal of raising brand awareness amongst non-hardcore gamers, a multi-pronged buzz effort was launched over several days, which included:
- Staged murder scenes outside of prominent London media companies
- Crime scene photos and autopsy reports sent to media members, mimicking death causes scene in the game
- Faux “human meat products” sent to even more journalists
- A launch event at a pop-up human butcher shop
